Coordinate conjunction (and, but, or) digunakan secara bersama dengan expression yang setara.  Atau dengan kata lain, kata apa yang ada di satu sisi harus paralel dengan kata disisi lainnya. Conjunctions tersebut dapat bergabung dengan noun, or verb, or adjectives, or phrase, or clauses; conjunction tersebut harus bergabung bersama dengan struktur yang sama.  Berikut ini contoh struktur yang setara secara benar digabungkan dengan coordinate conjunction :

e.g.          
– He discussed the problem with the nurse and the doctor.
– The professor was knowledgeable but boring
– She hikes, jog, or ride her bicycle whenever she can
– There are meetings in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening
– You can di the work because you want to do it or because you have to do it

Pattern    :  (same structure) + and, but, or + (same structure)
